Hello everyone! It’s Moongdara here, your local guide to the best hidden gems and trendy spots in Daegu and beyond. If you’re living in the Daegu Innovation City area or stationed nearby, you know that sometimes you just need to escape the city heat and see the ocean. Last weekend, I took a drive out to Pohang Yeongildae Beach, and I found a place that literally defines the word "romantic."
If you are looking for that perfect "Instagrammable" spot with a view that will take your breath away, look no further than Farm Table (팜테이블). Known for its incredible Dutch Baby pancakes and multi-story ocean views, this cafe is more than just a place to grab a coffee—it’s an experience. Let me walk you through why this should be your next weekend destination.

The Vibe: Four Floors of Coastal Magic
Farm Table isn't just a small coffee shop; it occupies a massive four-story building right on the edge of the Yeongildae promenade. Each floor offers a slightly different perspective of the East Sea. The second and third floors feature massive floor-to-ceiling windows, making them perfect for those windy or chilly days when you still want to watch the waves.
However, the real "crown jewel" of this cafe is the 4th-floor rooftop terrace. If the weather is even remotely nice, head straight up. There is something truly therapeutic about sitting on that terrace with the sea breeze hitting your face and the sound of the ocean in the background. It’s what I like to call a "romance overdose." Whether you’re on a date or just treating yourself, this view is worth every penny.

The Menu: Fluffy Delights and Icy Treats
Farm Table is famous for two things: Dutch Baby Pancakes and Souffle Pancakes. If you’ve never had a Dutch Baby, imagine a large, popover-like pancake that is baked in a cast-iron pan so it gets crispy on the edges and soft in the middle.
On my visit, I ordered the Seasonal Fruit Dutch Baby (currently featuring fresh strawberries) and three Summer Lattes. The pancake was topped with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and a drizzle of condensed milk. It is undeniably sweet, so I highly recommend pairing it with an Americano if you aren't a sugar fanatic. However, the Summer Latte—which comes with a big scoop of high-quality ice cream inside—is a fantastic treat if you want to go all-out on the indulgence.

How to Order & Local Tips
Ordering is straightforward at the counter on the first floor. The staff is used to tourists, so even if your Korean is limited, pointing at the well-illustrated menu works perfectly. Here are a few "Moongdara Tips" to make your trip smoother:
- Elevator Access: There is an elevator that goes up to the 3rd floor. If you want to go to the 4th-floor terrace, you’ll need to take the elevator to the 3rd and then walk up one flight of stairs.
- Seating Strategy: The 3rd floor tends to be quieter than the 2nd. If the terrace is full, try to snag a window seat on the 3rd floor for a better view with less noise.
- The Sunset Factor: If you can, time your visit for about an hour before sunset. Watching the sky turn purple over the Yeongildae Pavilion from the terrace is a core memory in the making.
Final Thoughts
Is it a bit pricey? Yes, our total for three lattes and a pancake came to about 36,400 KRW. But when you factor in the prime location, the spacious seating, and that million-dollar view, it feels like a bargain. It’s a great place to bring parents, friends from out of town, or a significant other. Farm Table isn't just a cafe; it’s the perfect punctuation mark on a day trip to Pohang.
